At Aotearoa Dive, we believe that awareness is the first step toward action. That’s why we are committed to educating our community about the environmental challenges facing our oceans and freshwater ecosystems, challenges that grow more urgent every day.

We are incredibly proud to be recognised as an SSI Blue Oceans Center, a distinction awarded to dive centres that lead by example in ocean conservation and sustainability. The SSI Blue Oceans movement is dedicated to protecting aquatic environments - oceans, coastlines, and freshwater systems - along with the rich diversity of plant and animal life they support.

Becoming a Blue Oceans Center means we’ve embedded environmental protection into the core of everything we do. We’ve met the following key criteria to ensure both our team and our customers are united in cultivating a culture of environmental responsibility:

✔️ We promote the SSI Sustainable Diver Code and Blue Oceans Philosophy

✔️ We provide training in Perfect Buoyancy and a wide range of SSI Ecology Programs

✔️ We support conservation efforts and partner with environmental organisations

✔️ We organise regular clean-up and environmental protection events - both above and below the surface

✔️ We ensure our dive centre remains eco-friendly in every aspect of operation
