COURSE OVERVIEW
Take your passion for breath-hold diving to the next level by becoming an SSI Basic Freediving Instructor. This course is your gateway to a rewarding career where you’ll teach, inspire, and safely guide others into the world of freediving.
Through a combination of academic training, in-water skill development, and instructor-level teaching techniques, you’ll learn how to deliver the SSI Basic Freediver program with professionalism, confidence, and care. You’ll master student management, coaching techniques, safety protocols, and performance evaluation - equipping you to shape the next generation of freedivers. Upon completion you will be certified to teach SSI Try Freediving and SSI Basic freediving programs.
Whether you’re looking to instruct part-time, add to your professional dive portfolio, or start a full-time freediving career, this course opens the door.
PREREQUISITES
Be 18 years or older
Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
Current first aid & O2 provider certification
Have one of the following SSI certifications (no equivalency permitted):
Scuba assistant instructor
Mermaid instructor
