Clean up dive event 2024 

Lake Tikitapu
April Sunday 7th

The Lake clean up is a great community event for everyone including divers, (free divers and SCUBA divers), non-divers and tamariki to get involved in. The aim is to clean two lake areas and raise awareness, ensuring it is kept beautiful, both above and below the surface.

DATE: April 7th - Sunday 2024
LOCATION: Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake)
TIME: 10.00 - Registrations open
NOTE: ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER ON ARRIVAL WITH AOTEAROA DIVE.
The Plan:
10.00 - Registration 
11.00 - Karakia 
11.15 - Safety Briefing
11.30 - Divers in the water/ Shore cleaners distributed in land areas
12.30 - All diving completed 
13.00 - Sorting trash into recycling piles
13.15 - Group photograph
13.30 - Hangi (Kai)
14.00 - Prize giving 
15.00 - End of event

Please contact us if hire gear is required as this is in limited supply so please book in advance.
* ALL SCUBA DIVERS MUST FILL IN PAPERWORK AT REGISTRATION AND MUST BRING THEIR CERTIFICATION CARDS - NO CERT NO SCUBA DIVE, but are welcome to free dive instead

If you would like to join in the fun and participate as part of the shore crew, be prepared to get down and dirty!
This is a free whanau friendly event, but tamariki must be supervised at all times by an adult.
Closed toe footwear must be worn for safety.
Please bring your own hand protection (gardening gloves or similar).
Don’t forget your own water bottle and bring sunscreen if it’s a warm day.
Dress for the weather (warm clothes and jackets).
